Information about starting a new team

The Gas City Coed Slowpitch League is Medicine Hat's Premier Slowpitch League.

So you want to start a new team?  You are in the right place.  GCCSL is a 72 team league with 6 divisions.  Our goal is to grow the league every year so that more and more people can enjoy playing slowpitch in the summers.  However we can only accept so many teams as field availability is limited.

Returning teams will always have first dibs on securing their spot for the new season.  During this time we usually start a waiting list for any available spot that might come open.  The sooner you get on the waiting list, the better chance you have of getting your new team into the league.

Fees are usually $1200 per team per season.  This gets you approximately 26 game season throughout the summer.  Also included is a box of balls, scorebooks, rule book and team insurance.

Season Usually starts beginning of May and runs to the middle of August.

All games each week are double headers and game times are 6:15 and 7:30 or 8:45 and 10:00. 4:00 and 5:30 on Sundays

We usually hold a spring meeting in the Middle of March.  We encourage all team managers (including those wanting to start a team) to join.  Registration is usually beginning of April.

We suggest reading our league rules to become familiar with the slo-pitch community.

We host 2 year end tournaments in August for a fun wind up tournament for our teams.
